Spring is most definitely my favourite season when it comes to fashion and style. The big bulky winter coats are gone and there is enough warmth to show off lots of different pieces without getting too hot. It is the perfect weather to style funky sleeves and quirky cuts. I wanted to do a spring lookbook here on my blog, buuuut I am still learning about this big ole blogging world and a lookbook seemed a little ambitious. So, without further ado, here is my first little outfit post, I think the term is an 'outfit of the day', or if you're really cool a #ootd.
I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that the gingham trend is absolutely everywhere right now, whether its on a top, a dress or a skirt, everyone seems to be working their gingham! When I first noticed the trend in LFW and popping up on trend alerts, I wasn't sure if I was going to jump on the gingham bandwagon. Fast forward a little and here I am posing in front of a randomers door in my little primark number.
For a sunny day out, I paired this cute cut-out shoulder gingham top with my trusty denim Topshop Jamie jeans and white primark sandals. As I was heading out to Breakfast with a friend and possibly a few drinks later in the afternoon I wanted an outfit that I was able to transform from day to night. I felt lovely and summery throughout the day, come evening I added a leather jacket and black clutch and I was ready to go! Perfect for those busy summer weekends where beer garden lunches turn into all day drinks!
The best thing about this top is that it was only £8!! Yes, less than a tenner from the fabulous Primark, you can see it here. I got this back in March in the Oxford Street store but dont worry because I have seen so many more additions since then, including this beautiful gingham bardot dress and peplum top.
I'm now loving the gingham trend so much I just purchased a cute summer dress from Topshop featuring the print! There are so many lovely pieces out there sporting the trend, if I knew how to add one of those 'shop the trend' widgets down below then I would (give me a little time, I'm learning!) but head over to ASOS and I'm sure you'll find something you love!
Are you loving the gingham trend? What pieces have you managed to pick up?
