Zoella Lifestyle | Candles & Diffusers | My Thoughts
I am a self obsessed candle addict, and I'm pretty sure Zoella is too. Every so often there is a Bath and Body Works haul over on Zoella's youtube channel, I'm always oogling over the wonderfully sounding scents and wishing I could get my hands on them without the huge shipping prices. Last autumn the Zoella Lifestyle range was launched, I think this range is aimed at a slightly older audience than the Zoella Beauty range. The packaging is more mature and the range includes a selection of candles, reed diffusers, a travel cup, a keyring and stationary.
When the range was launched, in true youtuber style, Zoe pulled another crazy marketing campaign out the bag. All the products were showcased in a "Zoella Apartment" which was visited by other popular YouTubers and press. The apartment was basically goals, very instagrammable and sooooo pinterest.
Since Spring has decided to make an appearance, I thought it was time I upgraded the scents in my room from the cosy, sweet winter smells to some refreshing floral spring scents. I ordered my Zoella Lifestyle products online from Superdrug, it was quick and easy and they currently have a 3 for 2 offer on selected Zoella products! I was buying completely blind, so I only had the scent descriptions to go by on the website. I opted for two candles, 'Seaside Stroll' and 'Daisy Picking', which came together as a set for £18 and one reed diffuser in the scent 'My Eden', priced at £12.
As you can see, the packaging of the products is absolutely beautiful, very minimal but pretty, the only thing I noticed is that there isn't any information on how long the candle burns for or the type of wax, two things that could potentially influence someones decision on buying. Each candle is packaged in a little box, coloured to match the scent. You can small the candle in the box through the little 'smelling hole', and on opening the box a beautiful pattern is revealed. The patterns are tailored to each scent, this doesn't really serve a purpose but I think it is really pretty, and a nice little memorable touch. Inside reveals a really simple glass jar, with the scent name and branding in colours corresponding to each scent.
I knew I had to purchase the scent 'Seaside Stroll' as that is simply my favourite past time, I love being by the sea, strolling along the beach. The description says "The scent of fresh air and ocean mist will leave you feeling like you're beside the sea no matter where you are. A sunny seaside walk in a jar!". Seaside stroll is a beautiful fresh smelling scent, I love lighting this throughout the day to keep me calm but motivated. The burn is fairly neat and I think the scent is quite strong, all in all a lovely candle for under a tenner.
In the same set, I got the scent 'Daisy Picking' in candle form. The description reads "Transport yourself to a summers day. The scents of wildflowers and luscious green grass fills the air as you tiptoe through the meadow." Now, in comparison to Seaside Stroll, this scent is more of a cozy candle which you light after getting home from a long day and you're starting to wind down and get cosy. It's still a happy fresh scent, but theres a sweeter, cosier note in there too.
I picked one diffuser from the range, the scent is called 'My Eden' and it is described as "Surround yourself with the scent of a garden in full bloom. Fresh roses, jasmine and luscious geraniums float on a warm summer breeze". I got this in diffuser form as I thought it would be a really good all round scent, day time, evening, colder or warmer days.
Firstly, the scent pay off is great, I got the diffuser out and within 12 hours I could really smell it in my room. I'm not sure how long it is going to last and whether the scent will stay this strong but so far so good. Personally, I really like the floral scent... it's like I've got my own personal little flower garden growing in my room. However, I've had a few people turn their nose up, saying that it smells like "old ladies" but I guess thats the beauty of personal preference! So if you like, flowery, maybe a little old fashioned type scents then you might want to try 'My Eden', but if that doesn't sound like your cup of tea then I would look into opting for a different scent.
Overall I have been very impressed with the Zoella Lifestyle home fragrance range. I have never purchased anything from any of the Zoella ranges so I'm really happy I decided to do so. This particular range is available in Superdrug and Boots.
I now want to check out the stationary range! Have you tried any of Zella's products from any of the ranges? Let me know what your favourites are in the comments.
