Seen as the sun has finally decided to grace it with its blinding presence, I thought it was time to start lusting over some of the Spring Summer collections from my favourite brands. Of course, the first place I headed was ASOS. I don't know whether it's because the sun is shining or the flowers are starting to bloom, (its crazy warm for March here in the UK) but it seems like pastels are my new thing, I've gone crazy picking up anything and everything as long as it is some shade of pastel in it. Anywho, just to tease myself, I chose out my favourite picks from the ASOS 'new in' section, if I stare at them long enough it might just mean they'll magically appear on my doorstep... What do ya think?

There is a lot to love about this mascara, if you're into your big, bold, blacker than black lashes, you need to buy this mascara. A couple of coats of the product equals voluminous, longer and fuller lashes and instantly makes you feel like a lash fluttering fairy. The wand has an hourglass shape which makes the application great and also so easy to get into the inner and outer corner lashes. A lot of people have asked if I'm wearing false lashes when I'm wearing this mascara, that's when you know a mascara is doing it's job!
I really didn't want to say anything negative about this product (this is not sponsored, I genuinely just have so much love for it) however, admittedly, the first couple of times you use a new tube, the mascara is very wet, which can make it quite difficult to work with. But please, do not be put off! After a couple of uses the consistency dries up ever so slightly and this makes such a difference. The lasting power is great, the products stays on all day and does not transfer onto your lids or under-eyes, avoiding the panda look is an essential! However, at the end of a long day, the last thing you want is a mascara that just won't budge, do not fear, the product is easily removable with a good eye make-up remover or micellar water, for example the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (review coming soon!).
The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara can be purchased online here from Too Faced at £17 or in store from here at Debenhams at £19 or here at Sephora at US$23.
Have you tried this mascara yet? If so, what did you think of it? What is your holy grail mascara? Let me know in the comments below.

Hello there little ones! With the party season coming to an end, I thought it was the perfect time to do a little round up of the make up products that have served me well over the Christmassy-winter period. It's not all year round that you get to don a shimmery eye and glistening red lipstick is it?
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Where do I start? This mascara is the BOMB... This has been my go-to mascara since the summer, despite it's questionable name, it is definitely one of the best mascara's I have ever owned, or maybe even the best.... wooaaah big claim. Either way, it is blacker than black, volumising and superrrrrrr lengthening, my lashes have seriously never looked better. I will be doing a full review of this product quite soon so keep reading if you want a wholeeee post of me expressing my love for this beautiful pink metal tube.
Ted Baker Eyeshadow Crayon
A lovely little addition to my christmassy make up looks, I tend to wear this in the inner corner of my eyes to add a beautiful shimmer and brighten up my tired eyes.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush
Another staple in my make-up bag, I felt the need to express my love once again as I had kind of forgotten about the real techniques stippling brush. I know there are a lot different uses for this kind of brush but I did kind of get into a bit of a rut of only using it for cream blushes. After giving my whole brush collection a good old deep clean, I decided to try this brush with some powder blushes. I wouldn't recommend this if you want a deep blushing glow, however, with the winter season welcoming glittery, shimmery, over the top eyes and deep, dark lips, I've tended to go for a light sweep of blush, (i.e. to avoid the clown look, never a good look, must be avoided at all costs).... due to its small round shape the real techniques stippling brush is perfect for putting the product just on the very apple of your cheek to give a very subtle toned glow.
Ted Baker Lipstick
The perfect Christmas red. I wore this lipstick on christmas eve, christmas day, and probably every day leading up to them. It is a crimson red will a lovely gold shimmer underneath, can you get any more wintery?!
Ted Baker Blush
First of all, the rose gold packaging is just as gorgeous as the actual product! A beautiful subtly pink toned blush with gold shimmer undertone, the mixture of shades in the blush give off a beautiful highlighting affect. If you want a really natural pink blush then the middle square is great, however for a more defined deeper colour, a full swirl with give you the perfect mix of all 3 shades. The shimmery gold undertone reflects the light beautifully, perfect for those girly night out photo shoots!
That's all for this week! Apologies I haven't got the shade names for the Ted Baker products however they came in a beauty set and don't have names. Hope you all had a lovely January, I am sooooo excited for spring, it is literally just around the corner now! What are your favourites from this season? Has anyone got any recommendations for spring make-up pieces? Let me know in the comments below.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Okay, yes... it is the middle of January, I know. Due to masters deadlines being quite thoughtfully placed just after the New Year came in, I have been living a life of 'wake up, go to the library, come home, go to sleep' and so, to be honest, I haven't even realised it's 2016. Now all is handed in and I'm a free gal, I thought it was definitely time for me to give some love and attention to my little corner of this big 'ole world wide web. However cliche it is, I always think it's fun to look back on the past year, think of where I was, what I was doing, and, see if I achieved what I wanted to achieve those 365 days ago. Looking back can provide a whole sense of motivation to set some more goals for the coming year.
2015 has been a whirlwind of ups and downs. I spent the majority of the first 5 months in my university library, working my butt off for my degree. Personally, I found my final year absolutely exhilarating, I finally found my place, I was actually kinda good at what I was doing. I discovered a field of study that I could completely emerge myself into and I felt passionate about it enough, I decided to apply to continue my education in the form of a masters degree. Whether this was the right decision or not, I'm yet to work out (more on that later). Anywho, I graciously catapulted myself (if that can be done graciously) through the final 5 months, come May I was totally exhausted, but, I had the biggest smile on my face. The memories I made were incredible, whether in the library or throwing some shapes on a student Wednesday, it was a blast. To top it all off, in July, I was awarded a first class degree, in a state of disbelief of what I had achieved, I enjoyed a peaceful, work free summer.
Come August I had to make some pretty tough life decisions, now for a girl who takes a good 20 minutes to decide what to have for breakfast everyday, deciding where to study my for my masters degree really provided some difficulty. With 5 unconditional offers from outstanding universities across the U.K. I had gotten myself into a bit of a pickle. Following my heart, I did a full U-turn and decided to head back to Bristol for another year. Since beginning my course in October, the ride has been pretty tough, a master is not for the soft hearted, but as pops says 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going'.
As you can tell, education takes up a lot of my life, but I did also manage to achieve some personal goals throughout the year. I bought myself my very first car, I shared my little blog with the world which was actually a pretty big moment, as I was terrified, but ya know, haters gon' hate an all that, and I've also recently moved into my first proper 'home', since moving out of home home I lived in either student dorms or a student shared house, to have a little flat is quite a lovely rewarding feeling. So, 2015 was a pretty good year, some milestones were reached and I came out smiling, that's all that really counts isn't it?
With a new year, a new 365 days (oh, minus 20 that have already gone!) to do absolutely anything you wish; that's the beauty of a new year, as cliche as it sounds, 'New Year, New Me'. Now I'm not going to go quite that far, but hey, what's wrong with setting a couple of old resolutions?
This is a really important one for me, I try to spread as much positivity as I possibly can, however, I've noticed that although I'm ferociously cheering everyone else on, I had nothing left for little old me. Now, that just won't do will it? This year I would like to save a little for myself, give myself that little tap on the back every now and then, rather than constantly thinking I haven't done enough or could've done better. I'm throwing negative nancy out the window and positive patricia is going to be taking up full residency.
Ohhhhh here we go, you're probably thinking 'whatever Elle, everyone says that', which is true, every year, January comes round and every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to be the next Kayla Itsines (all hail the fitness Queen of Insta.... if you've never heard of Kayla, then, seriously where have you been?! Check out her insta here). That aside, this is more of a personal health quest than a fitness quest. I've always been someone who could eat exactly whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, but recently I've had a few obstacles that have stopped from doing so. I aim to experiment with some different recipes, foods, cooking styles and ways of eating in the hope that I can find something that my body and my taste buds both agree on! I will probably blog my journey, let me know if that's something you guys would be interested in reading.
Mainly meaning, stop being late. I was late to my own birth and have been late ever since, why change now, huh? Well, I guess now I'm kinda like kindaaaaaaa an adult, I do have a few, just a few, responsibilities and unfortunately being late or unorganised really doesn't bode well. I'm either super organised or a complete mess, and I know very well that it pays off to not be the latter, so in 2016 I aim to always (mostly) be the super organised Elle.
Study. Study. Study. There's not much else to say here.
This blog holds something special for me but I really struggle to upload consistent content, the uni work just has to become a priority.... buuuuut, seen as I'm all ya know, super organised nowadays, I will hopefully be able to babble on about whatever takes my fancy much more frequently. I'm hoping to post on a more regular basis, aaaaaand to quite frankly, not give a monkeys about what anyone says about that.
Linking to the above, this blog is, and always has been a place a positivity. The industry can be quite a mean and scary place, with lots of bloggers having to deal with a lot of grief, and just as easily giving themselves grief. If you haven't got anything nice to say then say nothing. There's always going to be people to criticise you, to question your actions, and, to make fun of them, most of the time it is because they are jealous. This year I hope to not take any notice of this small group of people, and really focus on those ones who are supporting me and doing whatever makes me happy, and you should too!
If you're still with me, well done! That was a bit of a rambly one wasn't it, but I do enjoy these lifestyle posts. Have you made any resolutions for 2016? Let me know in the comments below!

We all know the story, you desperately want to rock that perfectly applied bold lippy in an attempt to look like the modern day bombshell full of sass, but in the end, you always grab that safe peachy nude. I am someone who often likes to experiment with various different colours on my lips, ranging from bright reds, dark purples to neon oranges, in hope that this may inspire some of you to be more adventurous, and embrace the sass, I've decided to share some of my faves with you! I'm lucky enough to have the full collection of Bourjois' Rouge Edition lipsticks, and despite being released in January 2013, there is a reason why this collection is still on the shelves. The 18 shades are categorised into 3 groups: 'Preppy' 01-06 (pretty pinks and peachy nudes), 'Colour Block' (big, bright, bold shades) and 'Night Out' (deep plums and dark reddy browns). I have chosen 7 shades that are perfect to welcome the new year in, all are from the categories 'Preppy' and 'Night Out', as I feel 'Colour Block' shades are definitely to be saved for the summer season!
"It's ready to wear formula is enriched with ¼ of pure lace for a radiant, glossy finish and orchid blossom extract so it glides onto the lips leaving them feeling smooth, hydrated and protected for up to 10 hours. A "must-have" lipstick for every woman's make-up bag"
The formula of the Rouge Edition lipsticks is absolutely lovely, with a moisturising but rich pay off, I love the way they look and feel on my lips. I apply all of these straight from the bullet, no need for any brushes, cause real talk here... ain't nobody got time to apply lipsticks with a brush! The formula is heavenly creamy and feels so soft and nourishing for around 8 hours after application. The colour fades so evenly and leaves a gorgeous subtle stain on the lips, no need to be worrying about patchy pouts!
02 - BEIGE TRENCH
A beautiful pinky beige nude, perfect for that natural make-up look, beige trench is a perfect example of when 'less is more'.
05 - BRUN BOHEME
A dusty, vintage pink with a hint of brown that gives it a more mature, sophisticated edge. One of my favourites for that everyday look without being too bold.
'Night Out' family
13 - ROUGE JET SET
A staple red for anyone's collection, the slight blue undertone means it suits various skin tones and also gives it that 'ultra glamorous classic' look.
14 - PRETTY PRUNE
The name says it all, a pretty 'prune' (prune, really?) plum shade, the only description I feel gives this shade justice is a 'vintage vampy' look... if that exists?!
15 - ROUGE PODIUM
Although in the 'night out' family, rouge podium is deep red with a fairly bright orange undertone. Personally this shade is the perfect way to brighten up those dreary January mornings!
16 - BRUN COSMOPOLITAN
Possibly my favourite shade in the 'night out' family or even the whole collection, wow, that is a big claim. But, as you can tell by how much is left, this is my go-to sexy, vampy but sophisticated lipstick for a night on the town. This dark and elegant chocolate colour is the definition of bold, it beautifully defines my lips and is so easy to apply compared to other bold matte shades that I have tried.
18 - VIOLENE STRASS
This is also a favourite if I'm looking for more of a deep purple plum shade. I initially had no interest in this colour as I thought I really wouldn't enjoy it, but after trying it on with a subtle neutral toned eye to compliment the golden tint, I instantly fell in love with it.
